Counseling Experience

 

My counseling style and training combine several therapeutic theories including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, family systems therapy, art therapy and mind-body awareness techniques. I have worked on inpatient and outpatient hospital units in addition to office settings with the following clients and issues:

 

§         Mood Disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolar)

§         Chemical Dependency with both adolescents and adults

§         Dual Diagnosis (co-occurring chemical dependency and mental health issues)

§         Multi-Family Groups

Business Experience

 

My experience includes over 20 years of U.S., international and nonprofit experience in Consulting, Information Systems, Finance, Product Management and Technical Support.  I have worked for small, medium and Fortune 500 companies and have extensive

experience with cross-functional teams.

 

Education

 

My education includes a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, and an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin with a concentration in Information Systems.   I   am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas.  I have completed additional studies in Art Therapy and am also proficient in French.
